Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2026

Overview

This policy explains what happens to your audio, what information reaches us, and what our advertising partner collects. MP3 Cutter is free to use and is funded by advertising, which means some data is handled by third parties. The sections below describe exactly which, and how to control it.

Audio Files

Loading, editing, previewing, and scrubbing a waveform happen entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API. Those steps do not send your audio anywhere.

When you export a file, it is uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our audio processing server, converted with the settings you chose, streamed back to you, and then deleted. The file and everything derived from it are removed from the server as soon as your download completes, and any file left behind by an interrupted request is deleted within the hour. We do not keep copies, we do not inspect the contents, and we do not share files with anyone. Your audio is never sent to our advertising partner.

The voice recorder is the exception: it captures, plays back and converts your recording inside the page, and does not contact our server at all.

Personal Data

We do not ask for an account, a name, or an email address to use the editor. We do not build user profiles ourselves, and we do not sell your data. If you use the contact page, your message is composed in your own email client and sent directly to us — that page does not transmit anything on your behalf.

Our web server keeps short-lived request logs containing your IP address and browser user agent, which exist to diagnose faults and to enforce the rate limit that keeps the service available. Separately, our advertising partner collects its own data, described below.

Cookies and Local Storage

We set one item in your browser's local storage to remember your theme preference (light or dark). It contains no identifier and is never sent to a server.

Beyond that, cookies on this site are set by our advertising partner rather than by us. We do not use analytics cookies, and we do not operate any tracking of our own across other websites.

Advertising

This site displays advertising served through Google AdSense.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

To do this, these vendors may collect your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser characteristics, the pages you view on this site, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies. This data is collected and used by those vendors under their own privacy policies, not ours, and we have no access to it. Google explains its practices in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Your Advertising Choices

You can turn off personalised advertising for your Google account at Google Ads Settings. You will still see ads, but they will not be tailored to your browsing.

To opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at once, use aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer a setting to reject third-party cookies entirely. None of this affects the editor: every tool on this site works with cookies disabled.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are set, using a consent management platform. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time through the privacy or cookie settings link presented by that banner. Withdrawing consent does not remove advertising; it means the advertising you see is not personalised.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold no account data and no copies of your audio, requests of this kind will usually need to go to our advertising partner, who is the party holding that data. We will help you direct a request if you contact us.

Children's Privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please get in touch and we will address it.

Third-Party Services

Two third parties are involved in running this site: the hosting and audio processing infrastructure that serves the pages and performs exports, and Google, which serves the advertising described above. Fonts are self-hosted, so loading a page makes no request to a font provider. We do not embed social media widgets, comment systems, or third-party video players.

Security

Uploads and downloads use HTTPS, so your audio is encrypted in transit. On the server each request is processed in its own isolated temporary directory that is deleted immediately afterwards, and nothing is written to long-term storage. Because files are held only for the seconds it takes to process them, there is no archive to breach.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If a change materially affects how data is handled, we will make that clear rather than quietly editing the text.
